Sorry; being hacked by some cretinous script; trying to figure it out. Meanwhile, if you’re using NoScript you might consider disabling scripting on the site, just to be safe.

Hi Doug – the page is supposed to update once per hour, starting about 20 minutes in; so the first thing to do if you’re wondering if yours got overlooked is to check the page’s “last updated” time, at top center of the page.
(and perhaps I should make the time a little more conspicuous…)

My newest post at farstars has been up 40 minutes or so, still not showing on NCVoices.us. Are you on a longer delay now? Use to take 5 to 10 minutes max.

“Local fire” section issues -

NCVoices has a “local fires” section, during fire season; I’d like to include The Union’s fire blog there, but they mostly post about nonlocal fires. So I’ll try moving the posts from their fireblog over to the “Union opinion/blogs” section, but still leave a link to their blog up in the “local fires” section, to make it easy for you to check.

If you’d like The Union to have a local-only fire blog, please let them know.

Thanks Steve for the suggestions (and the subsequent help!)

However, NCVoices has a “feature” (alas) – the link it picks up, from a “meetings” RSS entry , is the link to the pdf of the minutes, not to the streaming video.
Maybe it’ll behave better on an in-progress meeting…?
(this is a Ruby RSS-reading bug, in code that I don’t think anyone works on anymore, so it’s not an easy fix.)

Hi Anna,

I really like your site. The County has a couple RSS feeds that may be useful. The first is the “What’s News” articles from our front page. These are typically public health notifications, library events, public notices, etc.

The second is a feed for the Board of Supervisors meetings streaming video on demand service. This is a great public service and we want more folks to be aware of it. http://nevco.granicus.com/ViewPublisherRSS.php?view_id=3&mode=

The County struggles to get our information out to more of the public and your site seems to be a great venue for this.

I hope you will consider adding these feeds.
